Beer Albion 2nd’s received no reward for a battling performance as they went down 2-0 away at Teignmouth 2nd’s on Saturday writes Sam Phillips.
The Fishermen’s started brightly and controlled the first half. Barnaby Down narrowly missed the target on a couple of occasions and Simon Smith hit a free kick just over the bar.
Teignmouth were a lot sharper after the break and Beer struggled to win possession. The home side went ahead on the hour mark when an inswinging corner was met with a good header. The Teigns sealed the 2-0 win on 75 minutes when Beer failed to deal with a cross leaving the home side’s winger with an easy finish to put the game to bed.
Beer’s Man of the match was Ashley Driver at the heart of Beers defence.
Next Saturday, Beer 1st’s will be hoping to sustain their unbeaten record in all competitions when they travel to Budleigh Salterton, whilst Beer2nd’s entertain Chard Town 2nd’s at the Furzebrake. Kick-off is at 3pm and the match day sponsor is “Indulge in Beer”.
